“Ancient Creature” – another hand made tamper
Posted by aboutpipes on April 13, 2008
My last hand made tamper is on its way to new home, so I decided to gain new skills and have a relaxing time, and keep myself with good work 🙂
I have choose pear wood again.
On pictures you can see, how my work was looking like.
As recently my tampers are inspired by various things, I called this one Ancient Creature 🙂

My first freehand tamper “No. 1”
Posted by aboutpipes on April 5, 2008
Few days ago I decided I need to relax myself for a while.
I took pear wood, which some Polish pipe makers are using for pipes making.
And I cut this tamper out. When I have finished I waxed it with Carnauba .
Here is the final result of my work.
And that is my first freehand tamper now 🙂
As my friend, an artist said, that tamper is closer to strange sculpture than to pipe tamper but I hope you enjoy 😉
